20th Annual Sycamore Stitchers Quilt Show

SANYO DIGITAL CAMERAThe Sycamore Stitchers meet at the park each month sharing their love of quilting and engaging in a wide variety of projects.   Each year they host the Sycamore Stitchers Quilt Show which focuses on historic and modern quilting techniques and patterns. The Visitors Center of the park comes alive with color and design for four full days, Thursday through Sunday, October 2 – 5.

The quilt show can be viewed from 9 am – 4 pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and from 1 pm – 4:30 pm on Sunday.

17th Annual KNAP-IN at Fort Watauga


Saturday & Sunday, October 4 – 5, 2014

10 am – 4 pm each day behind the Visitors Center

Knapping, the art of making stone tools, is celebrated at Fort Watauga during this annual event. Watch primitive skills craftsmen make arrowheads, spear points and other survival tools. There will be demonstrations of primitive tools such as the bow, arrow and atlatl throughout the day.
