Sunday, February 8 from 2 pm – 3 pm

Are you curious about keeping honeybees? Have you ever ???????????????????????????????considered how vital they are to our survival? How do honeybees differ from other insects and why is that important?

We are providing an introductory class in beekeeping, which will be taught by Mr. Joe Schultz who is an experienced beekeeper. He lives in Elizabethton, is a member of the Washington County Beekeepers Association, and has successfully completed the Tennessee Master Beekeeper’s course.

In addition to the questions posed above, during this introductory class, Mr. Schultz will explain the function of ???????????????????????????????bees in our society and why they are vital to our continued survival. He will share how the State of Tennessee endorses “backyard beekeeping” and offer suggestions for anyone interested in this vital pursuit, along with sharing some local resources for supplies and equipment. Additionally, he will address any questions you might have related to beekeeping.

This introductory class will be offered at the Sycamore Shoals State Park on Sunday, February 8, 2015 from 2-3 Beekeeping - Joe Schultz - 30%pm. If you’ve have considered or ever wondered about keeping bees, this time is for you. And best of all, it’s free—you don’t even have to pre-register. Looking forward to seeing you then!
