Next two weekends of Liberty! highlight Interpretation for the hearing impaired on Fridays and Veterans Night

The Watauga SettlementNext two weekends of Liberty! highlight Interpretation for the hearing impaired on Fridays and Veterans Night on Thursday, July 16

For our Friday performances of Liberty! the Saga of Sycamore Shoals, we are pleased to announce that a sign language interpreter will be with us bringing the story to life for the hearing impaired.

In addition, we also have a Williams Hearing Impaired system transmitting on 72.9 MHz during all performances for those that have a receiver and ear piece.

On Thursday, July 16th, we once again offer veterans of all wars and an escort free admission to Liberty for our annual “Veteran’s Night” celebration.

And don’t forget that on Fridays and Saturdays you can join us for our Dinner Theater. Your dinner theater ticket provides for a delicious meal, served at 6 pm, followed by an evening of exceptional historic entertainment.

The Liberty! Dinner Theater is available by advanced reservations only. Reservations must be made by 1:00 PM the day of the performance either online at www.TheLibertyDrama.com or by calling the park at 423-543-5808.

Performed beside the cool waters of the Watauga River, Fort Watauga acts as the backdrop to a play that tells the pivotal stories of the people who lived in the Watauga Settlement.   The events that took place in the late 18th century at Sycamore Shoals set the stage for the subsequent formation of a new nation; events that were critical to state and national history.

With only two weekends left to catch Tennessee’s Official Outdoor Drama, we hope you will plan to spend your evening with us at Sycamore Shoals State Historic Area to see Liberty!

Liberty! runs Thursdays-Saturdays, July 9 – 11, 16 – 18, and 23 -25, in the Fort Watauga Amphitheater at Sycamore Shoals State Historic Area in Elizabethton. Performances begin nightly at 7:30 (Box office opens at 6 pm). John Carter’s Store (concessions) opens at 6:30 pm.
