Friends groups play a huge role in helping many Tennessee State Parks with fundraising, park projects, and programs.
And that is exactly what Friends of Sycamore Shoals is all about…..and more!
Comprised of a hard working Board of Directors and a dedicated Membership, this group meets and works diligently throughout the year helping Sycamore Shoals move forward.
Not only do they plan and implement the outdoor drama Liberty! each year, there are many other projects always in the works that might not appear immediately obvious.
A few examples of the many ways in which FSSSHA (Yes, that’s Friends of Sycamore Shoals State Historic Area!) assist us, include,
Supporting Liberty!, Tennessee’s Official Outdoor Drama
Supporting the Washington County Regiment North Carolina Militia
Supporting the Watauga Valley Fife and Drum Corp
Supporting our Tennessee Master Gardeners
Supporting the annual Native American Festival
Funding many of our publications
Purchasing advertising
Overseeing our wardrobe department
Provide improvements on the park grounds
Purchase and installation of gardens and plant material
Supporting the implementation of an archival and research facility
Providing a surveillance system for the new park exhibits
And what you read above is just a snippet!
